Sensory Movement Music & Play Program consists of 4 colorful sessions, each with 6 different classes—adding up to 24 UNIQUE and NON-REPEATING CLASSES. Families can join at any time during the year. Each session is color-coded—Orange, Blue, Green, and Pink—and includes its own set of songs, games, and sensory activities, making every class feel fresh and exciting.

Our goal is to offer a rich variety of songs in English and Spanish, along with creative sensory activities you can easily recreate at home—many of which might surprise you with how fun and engaging they are for your little one.

No need to know Spanish—this program is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all families!

Hello! Happy family. I'm the founder of Zone for Babies and Kids since 2009. As a child development teacher, I've created a program that gives you the opportunity to enjoy quality time together through sensory play. These classes are designed for pure enjoyment, filled with movement, singing, dancing, being loud, and embracing the joy of messiness! Because mess is FUN! Get ready to participate in a one-of-a-kind program taught in both English and Spanish, providing a unique experience unlike anything you've encountered before.

Come join our unique sensory music classes in English AND Spanish for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in San Diego. Offered outdoors at beautiful Park . These creative and educational brain-building classes are taught by Ms. Yuru Lameda, also known as “The Babies and Kids Whisperer.”

Master teacher Ms. Yuru Lameda has a degree in Early Childhood Education and over 16 years of experience working with children and their families. Ms. Yuru will teach and share with you how quality time with infants and toddlers engaged in sensory play will lead to healthier, happier, and smarter kids!

From birth to age 5, your child's brain is growing rapidly. Sensory play, combined with engaging songs, is crucial during these early years, enhancing brain development, fine and gross motor skills, and language acquisition. Our bilingual sensory music class also provides an opportunity to expose your child to Spanish as a second language in a natural and fun way.

No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. These rich, varied sensory experiences lay the foundation for the skills your child will build as they grow, making these early play opportunities essential for their future success.

The Green Session includes six unique classes filled with exciting songs and activities to spark your child’s imagination and growth. Together, we’ll sing about animals like the rooster, hen, chick, horse, fish, bird, elephants, bear, and butterfly, while engaging in musical games that promote language development. We’ll practice numbers and count ducks, stars, and airplanes, hop like frogs, learn farm animal sounds, explore emotions, practice the days of the week, and sing about shapes. The program also introduces songs and activities in both English and Spanish, providing a fun way to expose children to a second language. No need to know Spanish; this inclusive program is welcoming to all families, fostering imagination and essential developmental skills in a vibrant and supportive environment!

In a world where empathy sometimes feels like something we are slowly losing as human beings, one of my biggest missions is to create spaces where children can grow up surrounded by diversity.

I truly believe that learning from the differences of others is one of the most important foundations for raising empathetic adults and for creating a better world than the one we are currently living in.

Our next 16-week art journey, divided into two 8-week sessions, celebrates the joyful world of Gustavo Rosa, a beloved Brazilian artist known for his playful style, cheerful colors, and charming scenes—often featuring animals and everyday moments that spark imagination in young learners.

Throughout this project, families will explore art in a warm and meaningful way. Each class begins with songs, movement, and games — the Ms. Yuru way @zone_bk — creating a joyful atmosphere before starting the art experience.

When families trust me with their little ones from 6 months old and decide to continue the journey until preschool, something magical happens.

1. Printing and organizing the instructions for the Orange Winter session boxes

4. Cali on the treadmill because even when I didn’t feel like going out, movement still matters 🐾

5. Assembling boxes and getting everything ready to start classes on January 6

6. Christmas shopping at At Home with my mom (no photo 🙈)

7. Separating the paper sheets that will go into the next session’s boxes (4 per box)

8. A warm, lactose free hot chocolate using a friend’s delicious recipe

9. Slowing down and enjoying the moment with calm

10. Dinner with a friend, sharing a very good Chinese dinner at Skydeck, highly recommended if you’re in the area @zenmodernasian (no photos because I like to disconnect from my phone when I’m with people 💜)

Big jingle bells, tiny hands, and so much learning happening through play.

This Christmas sensory activity offers visual input as children explore different colors, auditory input as they listen to the sound of the jingle bells, and visual-motor input as they move and shake them.
It can also support early language development by singing a Christmas song together while playing 🎄🎶

⚠️ Safety reminder: These are not toys for children. Always use with close adult supervision as they may present a choking hazard.

🎅📸 “Santa visits” can be magical, but they can also be a bit overwhelming for little ones. Here are some playful ways to help your child feel more comfortable meeting the big guy in red this holiday season:

🎄 Read Books About Santa

🎄 Sing or Listen to Holiday Songs: I use “Santa is his name O” by the Kiboomers in my class

🎄 Role-Play Santa Visits: Pretend to be Santa at home! Put on a red hat, and let your child “meet Santa” in a safe and familiar setting. Bonus points if you have a toy sack!

🎄 Watch Santa Videos with +2 y/o
Show them cheerful, kid-friendly videos where Santa interacts with children. Keep it light and fun!

🎄 Look at Photos of Santa: Show them pictures of other kids sitting with Santa. You can even create a photo book featuring Santa and holiday traditions.

🎄 Talk About the Visit: Explain what will happen. For example: “We’re going to meet Santa. He’s very kind and loves to hear what you want for Christmas!”

🎄 Let Them Observe: Let your child watch other kids with Santa first. Seeing others enjoy the experience might encourage them to join in.

🎄 Have a Backup Plan: If your child isn’t ready to sit with Santa, THAT’S OK! BE KIND with your children and take the photo while holding them, or even a fun family photo next to Santa.

By making these small preparations, you can turn potential tears into joyful holiday memories! 🌟🎅
